Ryan Michelle Bathé was born on July 27, 1976, in St. Louis, Missouri.

Her mother, Clare Bathé, is also an actress, though is perhaps better known as the lead singer of the 1970s funk-disco-rock group Machine.

After growing up in Stamford, Connecticut, Bathé graduated from Stanford University, where she was a member of the sorority Delta Sigma Theta.

Bathé then went on to earn a Master of Fine Arts degree from New York University.

Bathé began her Hollywood career in 2001, appearing in the TV series The Education of Max Bickford.

She went on to appear in episodes of various TV series such as ER, Girlfriends, Brothers & Sisters, and How I Met Your Mother, among others.

In 2005, she was cast as Sara Holt in the hit legal drama-comedy series, Boston Legal.

She had recurring roles in the 2009 medical drama series Trauma, and in season six of the Lifetime original drama Army Wives.

From 2020 to 2023, she played Rachel Audubon in All Rise, a legal drama that aired on CBS and the Oprah Winfrey Network.

She also appeared as FBI Special Agent Val Turner in The Endgame, an NBC crime drama thriller series.

Bathé most recently played the leading role in the thriller film Boy In The Walls, directed by Constance Zimmer.

She was also cast alongside Terry Crews in the CBS comedy pilot JumpStart.
