Percy Hynes White is a Canadian actor best known for his role as Xavier Thorpe in the Netflix series Wednesday.
Born on October 8, 2001, Percy hails from St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador. His impressive filmography includes Edge of Winter, A Christmas Horror Story, Between, Pretty Hard Cases, and The Gifted.
However, it was his role in Wednesday that introduced him to a wider audience, where he played the psychic student and romantic foil to the eponymous character.
In an interview with CBC, Percy shared his experience filming Wednesday in Romania, describing it as “pretty crazy.”
He mentioned the challenges of being away for eight months, undergoing rigorous training for various aspects of the role, including stunts, rowing, archery, fencing, dancing, and painting.
Despite the challenges, Percy praised director Tim Burton for being a great collaborator and expressed his desire to return for season 2.
Unfortunately, Netflix announced on May 7, 2024, that Percy would not be returning for Wednesday season 2. The show’s executives cited their goal of discovering fresh faces and inviting acting legends to join the cast.
This news came amid resurfaced sexual assault allegations made against Percy in January 2023. He has vehemently denied the accusations, stating that the rumors are false and have caused distress to him, his family, and friends.
