Jesse Baird, 26, was a notable Australian TV personality known for his work as a presenter with Network 10 until his departure in December 2023. He was also a reporter for Ten and was seen as a promising talent in the television industry. Baird grew up in Melbourne’s suburban north-east before his work in television took him to Brisbane and then Sydney. Additionally, he was an avid water skier, motorbike rider, and played competitive amateur AFL before becoming an AFL umpire. He resided in the Paddington area of Sydney.
Luke Davies, 29, was Baird’s partner and a Qantas flight attendant who had recently moved to Sydney for work. He had also worked with Tiger Airways and was excited about his new role as a flight attendant with Qantas on the international circuit.
The alarming situation unfolded when Baird and Davies’ belongings, including bloodied clothes, were discovered in a skip in Sydney’s beachside suburb of Cronulla. Beau Lamarre, 28, who was Baird’s ex-partner, handed himself in at a Sydney police station and was charged with the alleged double murder of the two men.
It is alleged that Lamarre killed the couple at Baird’s home and used a white van to dispose of their bodies, which was later found in Newcastle, 70 miles north of Sydney. However, the bodies of Baird and Davies have not yet been found. Witnesses reported hearing an argument at Baird’s property on Monday morning, and police discovered a bullet matching Lamarre’s service gun and a large amount of blood at the crime scene.
