Whit Johnson is a well-known news anchor, notably seen on ABC World News Tonight and Good Morning America on weekends. However, his wife, Andrea Fujii, is also a news anchor in her own right. Here’s what we know about her.
Andrea Fujii, originally from Honolulu, Hawaii, is a correspondent for ABC News based in New York. Although she initially pursued a degree in law at Santa Clara University, Andrea realized during her third year in law school that being a lawyer was not her passion. She decided to follow her dream of becoming a news reporter and anchor instead.
After making this career switch, Andrea worked for CBS2/KCAL9 in 2012, before moving on to CBS’WJZ in Baltimore and later anchoring for an NBC affiliate in Washington. Currently, as of February 2024, she works as a correspondent for ABC News.
Whit and Andrea first met while she was working in Washington and he was just starting out in his career at Good Morning America. They started off as friends and eventually got married on August 11, 2007. The couple then moved to New York City to further their careers at ABC.
Together, Whit and Andrea have two daughters. Their first daughter, Leah, was born on May 15, 2012, followed by their daughter, Summer, on July 2, 2014. In 2019, Whit shared a heartfelt video of a poem he wrote for his daughters, expressing his love and dedication to them as their father.
