Eighties movie star Ally Sheedy, best known for her roles in iconic coming-of-age films, was once married to fellow actor David Lansbury.
Lansbury, known for his work in movies such as Michael Clayton, Oz, and Scent of a Woman, comes from a family of prominent entertainers. His father is screenwriter Edgar Lansbury, and his aunt is the legendary actress Angela Lansbury.
Ally Sheedy and David Lansbury tied the knot on October 10, 1992, and were married until June 9, 2009. The couple welcomed one child together, a son named Beckett.
In his teen years, Beckett came out as transgender, and Ally has been supportive of her son’s transition, ensuring he has the freedom to make his own choices and surround himself with a loving, supportive community.
In addition to his marriage to Sheedy, David Lansbury remarried in 2013 to Kristina Mikkelsen, with whom he shares one child. Despite their divorce, Sheedy and Lansbury have remained dedicated parents to their son.
Ally Sheedy was also a part of the famous Brat Pack, a group of young actors who frequently collaborated on coming-of-age movies in the 80s. Alongside stars like Demi Moore, Molly Ringwald, and Emilio Estevez, Sheedy appeared in films such as The Breakfast Club and St. Elmo’s Fire.
The Brat Pack reunited for the 2024 documentary BRATS, set to stream on Hulu on June 13, 2024, celebrating their iconic contributions to the film industry.
