The Doomsday Prophet will be featured on ABC’s Truth and Lies show, where they will cover the story of Warren Jeffs.
Warren Jeffs, the polygamist leader of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, was convicted of two felony counts of child sexual assault in 2011. He was sentenced to life in prison plus 20 years for these crimes. Before his incarceration, Jeffs fathered over 60 children and he was said to have had around 80 wives, 24 of whom were underage girls.
Jeffs became the cult’s leader following the death of his father and even got placed on the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted list in 2006. He was believed to have been in control of the 10,000-member congregation even while in jail.
Despite his imprisonment, his children have lived quiet lives over the years. Most of his children, including Roy Jeffs, some of whom have spoken out about their childhood, have preferred to stay out of the public eye.
According to sources such as CNN and The Salt Lake Tribune, Roy, who had previously spoken out about leaving his father’s church, was found dead at his home in Salta Lake City, Utah, in May 2019. His sister Becky Jeffs her has also spoken out about sexual abuse by their father.
