TikTok influencer Elsa Majimbo has once again grabbed the attention of the public and the media.

The Kenyan comedian initially rose to prominence during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic with her satirical monologues on TikTok, often accompanied by her eating potato chips and sporting small sunglasses.

Majimbo’s recent notoriety comes from her claims of a falling out with supermodel Naomi Campbell. Majimbo alleges that she met Campbell in December 2020 after sending her a DM while Campbell was in Nairobi. Majimbo claims that Campbell invited her and her brother to join her on vacation, and even offered to collaborate on a documentary about Majimbo’s life in Kenya.

However, things took a turn when Majimbo’s short film, “Elsa,” premiered at the 2022 TriBeCa Film Festival. Majimbo alleges that this upset Campbell, who she claims accused her of moving forward with the documentary plans without her. Majimbo also states that Campbell threatened to sue her for the rights to the film.

Majimbo further notes that her career took a hit after her relationship with Campbell fell apart. She describes turning to excessive drinking as a result of the situation, and recounts attempting to apologize to Campbell, resulting in Campbell telling her to stop trying to contact her.

Majimbo asserts that while Campbell did give her credibility and introduced her to key people, their current relationship status is that they are “not friends, we’re not enemies, we’re not anything.”

Despite these allegations, Campbell has responded, stating in 2023 that she has let go of any grudges and that she is not one to hold a grudge.

The dispute between the two influencers has garnered significant interest and speculation among their followers and the media. It remains to be seen whether further details will come to light in the ongoing saga between Majimbo and Campbell.
