A groundbreaking new Netflix documentary is shedding light on alleged coercive behavior against a group of TikTok dancers.

“Dancing For The Devil: The 7M TikTok Cult,” tells the real-life story of performers, including Miranda Derrick, who are ensnared in a cult posing as a management company called 7M.

Miranda Derrick, a dancer, choreographer, YouTuber, and social media star, first gained fame when she competed on the 12th series of “So You Think You Can Dance.”

She is prominently featured in the Netflix docuseries, which exposes the dark truths behind 7M.

Recently, several dancers previously signed with 7M Films filed a lawsuit against the management company and its owner, Robert Shinn. Former members of Shinn’s controversial Shekinah Church also joined in the legal action.

Miranda’s family made headlines in 2022 when they posted a video on Instagram accusing 7M of exerting unhealthy control over its dancers.

In response to the documentary, Miranda released a statement on June 4, 2024, asserting that she is not a victim and is not being abused. She stated that her choices in life are her own to make.

The three-part series delves deep into the unsettling details surrounding 7M and its associated church, revealing the darker side of the company’s founder. Miranda, along with her sister Melanie Wilking, initially gained popularity through their shared social media account before Miranda joined 7M.

The docuseries includes interviews with former 7M dancers who are embroiled in legal battles with Shinn.

Some of them allege that Shinn urged his followers to sever ties with their families.

One dancer shared concerns that Miranda might be under the influence of brainwashing tactics after she mentioned missing her family and Shinn advised her against meeting them.

“Dancing For The Devil: The 7M TikTok Cult” paints a chilling picture of the manipulation and control tactics allegedly employed by 7M Films and its leader, Robert Shinn.

The documentary raises important questions about the line between management and misconduct in the world of social media influencers and performers.
