British comedian John Oliver is causing a stir with his unexpected offer to pay Republican Supreme Court Justice, Clarence Thomas. Oliver is offering to give Thomas $1 million per year and a $2 million tour bus if he resigns from his post.
Oliver’s hit show, Last Week Tonight, has been renewed for three more seasons at HBO, meaning it will be airing until at least 2026. As a result, the comedian has a cushy salary of $8 million per year, along with a $2 million bonus.
Additionally, Oliver was paid $3 million for his role in The Lion King and $4 million for The Smurfs, bringing his estimated net worth to $50 million.
