John Gotti III, a rising star in the boxing world, is gearing up for a rematch against the legendary Floyd Mayweather.
Despite his talent and success in the ring, some fans have been taken aback by Gotti’s notorious family name.
Born on November 2, 1992, in New York, Gotti III initially excelled as a football player before his father introduced him to mixed martial arts.
His father, John A. “Junior” Gotti, is a former mobster who led the Gambino crime family in the late 90s. Despite his criminal past, Gotti Jr. has since turned away from that life and become an entrepreneur and writer.
Gotti III made his MMA debut in 2017 and quickly caught the attention of fans with a string of wins.
Transitioning to professional boxing in 2022, he has continued to impress with several victories in the ring. However, his recent fight against Mayweather ended in chaos as a wild brawl erupted between their teams.
Following the disqualification from the fight, Gotti III took to social media to declare Mayweather an “enemy for life.”
The two fighters are now scheduled for a rematch on August 24, 2024, in Mexico City, New Mexico.
