Ghana’s Chief Moomen to perform at Earth to Space Festival in US

Ghanaian poet and playwright Chief Moomen is set to showcase his storytelling prowess at the Earth to Space Festival in April 2025 at The Kennedy Center in Washington DC.

The announcement was made on his Facebook page where he expressed his excitement about bringing decades of practice and ancestral tradition to his one-man show at the prestigious event.

Chief Moomen will be joining a lineup of Nobel Laureates, poets, astronauts, musicians, researchers, visual artists, engineers, actors, environmentalists, architects, astronomers, dancers, scientists, and filmmakers at the festival. The highly-anticipated event, themed ‘Earth to Space: Arts Breaking the Sky’, promises a series of thought-provoking performances and events.

The Earth to Space Festival aims to combine art, science, and technology to explore space while emphasizing the importance of protecting planet Earth. Chief Moomen’s schedule includes a performance at the festival launch on April 1, 2025, and his main show on April 5, 2025.

For those in Washington or nearby, the opportunity to witness Chief Moomen’s performance can be found at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. Chief Moomen has been a prominent figure in Ghana’s poetry and theatre scene, with his ambitious storytelling project ‘The Mansa World’ gaining international recognition.

In addition to his upcoming performance at the Earth to Space Festival, Chief Moomen recently staged an epic musical theatre production titled ‘Mansa Musa and the Trail of Lost Gold, The Prelude’ at the National Theatre of Ghana. This production, featuring a cast and crew of 150, is expected to elevate Ghana’s cultural landscape and tourism sector.
