Emerging Ghanaian artist Safo Newman has spoken out against those who have been criticizing the legendary rapper Michael Owusu Addo, also known as Sarkodie, for endorsing him.
Safo Newman gained widespread recognition after the release of his song ‘Akokoa’, which caught the attention of both mainstream media and social media users.
During an interview, he expressed his desire to meet Sarkodie after the multiple award-winning rapper publicly endorsed him as the next big thing in the music industry.
His wish was granted when a video surfaced on Wednesday, February 21, showing the ‘Akokoa’ singer in the studio with Sarkodie, listening to his hit song.
Following the release of the video, Sarkodie faced backlash from critics who accused him of using other artists to maintain his relevance in the industry.
In response to the backlash, Safo Newman suggested that those who viewed Sarkodie’s support in a negative light are in need of redemption.
“Promoting Safo Newman’s ‘Akokoa’ message. If you can’t see it this way, you’re beyond help with your negativity. Thanks @sarkodie for massively endorsing the message. You’re truly a patriotic citizen of Ama Ghana. Bless” he tweeted.
