VIDEO: Afua Asantewaa pays tribute to Ebony Reigns 6 years after her passing

Afua Asantewaa Aduonum, well-known for her Guinness World Record sing-a-thon, took to social media to pay tribute to the late Ghanaian musician, Ebony Reigns, who passed away six years ago.

In a touching video, Afua Asantewaa sang Ebony’s hit song, Konkonsa Police, and expressed how much she has missed her. The heartfelt video resonated with many people on social media.

The late Ebony Reigns tragically passed away on February 8, 2018, in a car accident. Remembering her six years on, Afua Asantewaa posted a video of her singing one of Ebony’s songs along with a heartfelt message, expressing her continued love for the late musician.

Afua Asantewaa’s followers on Instagram were moved by her tribute to Ebony. Many of them expressed their appreciation for honoring Ebony’s memory with the video, especially since Afua Asantewaa had used several of her songs during her Guinness World Record sing-a-thon attempt.

In the caption of her post, Afua Asantewaa wrote: “We still love you Nana Hemaa, Ebony today marks exactly 6 years since your demise. Continue to rest well.” The outpouring of responses from Ghanaians to the video demonstrates the enduring impact that Ebony Reigns continues to have on her fans.

In a separate news event, it was reported that Ebony Reigns’ family and friends, led by her parents, visited her grave on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of her passing on February 8, 2024.

Videos from the emotional ceremony depict her father and others laying a wreath and praying at her graveside in remembrance of the beloved musician.
