Renowned Ghanaian broadcaster and fashion icon, Kofi Okyere Darko (KOD), has shared his disappointment regarding the red carpet session at the recent Telecel Ghana Music Awards.
In an interview on Joy FM’s Showbiz A-Z, the founder of the Nineteen57 fashion company expressed his belief that the attendees could have put more effort into their red carpet looks.
KOD emphasized the need for simplicity and elegance, suggesting that individuals should opt for a classic black suit with a pop of color, especially since the event had a red theme.
He highlighted the importance of not overcomplicating outfits in an attempt to stand out, as sometimes this can result in a lackluster appearance.
Furthermore, Kofi Okyere Darko commended the performers at the event for bringing their best to the stage but felt that the red-carpet fashion fell short.
He emphasized that there are plenty of stylish options available without the need to reinvent the wheel.
As one of the hosts of the event in its early stages, KOD also shared his thoughts on the quality of emceeing during the awards ceremony.
He praised experienced individuals such as Naa Ashorkor and Chris for their contributions, rating Chris’ performance at a commendable 7 out of 10.
