A lawsuit against Aerosmith singer Steven Tyler was recently dismissed by a judge, who ruled that the plaintiff, Jeanne Bellino, had waited too long to sue the rockstar for alleged sexual assault in 1975.
The judge, Lewis Kaplan, stated that the case did not qualify for a two-year window for submitting claims, as Tyler’s alleged conduct did not meet the criteria for posing a “serious risk of physical injury.”
Tyler’s lawyer, David Long-Daniels, expressed gratitude for the result, stating, “We agree with the judge’s reasoning, and are grateful for this result on behalf of our client.”
This decision comes in the midst of another continuing case filed against Tyler by a separate woman in 2022, which the singer has also denied.
The decision to dismiss the lawsuit provides some relief for Tyler as he continues to face legal proceedings related to allegations of sexual assault.
