On September 14, 2024, stakeholders in Ghana’s tourism, arts, and culture sectors will convene at the studio of Joy Prime for the 5th edition of Joy FM’s Showbiz Roundtable.
This season, Joy FM is providing a platform for political parties to showcase their policy proposals for Ghana’s creative economy.
Titled MANIFESTO DEBATE ON CREATIVE ECONOMY, the program will be broadcast live on Joy FM and Joy Prime on September 14, 2024, from 2 PM to 6 PM.
The event, hosted by Kwame Dadzie and produced by Philip Nai and Anita Teye, is brought to you by Showbiz A-Z, the leading entertainment talk show in Ghana.
Representing the National Democratic Congress (NDC) will be Sadiq Abdullai Abu, also known as Baba Sadiq (NDC Parliamentary Candidate for Okaikoi Central Constituency), and Rex Owusu Marfo (Member of NDC Manifesto Committee).
From the New Patriotic Party (NPP), the participants will include Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mark Okraku-Mantey, and the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), Akwasi Agyeman.
This article focuses on one of the NDC representatives for the debate, Baba Sadiq.
Baba Sadiq Abdulai Abu, known as Baba Sadiq, is a media and communications expert, entrepreneur, and politician with over 20 years of experience in the African media and communications industries. He has held various roles as a media and communications executive and entrepreneur.
He is the Founder and former CEO of 3 Media Networks Limited, the company behind the music media brand, 3Music TV, and 3Music Awards.
He is also the founder and Executive Director of the WILDALAND Foundation, an ESG foundation known for the WILDALAND festival.
Prior to his current roles, Sadiq was the Founding Director of Boomplay, Africa’s top digital streaming service, in Ghana.
He also worked for Modern Times Group (MTG) AFRICA, leading Viasat1 Ghana’s Programmes & own productions/executive producer. He was instrumental in the success of various projects and shows during his time there.
Additionally, Sadiq co-founded Muse Africa, a lifestyle and entertainment brand, and has been actively involved in many impactful projects in the media and creative industry.
As a politician, Sadiq is a member of the NDC and has played significant roles in the party’s campaigns and committees. He is currently the NDC Parliamentary candidate for Okaikoi Central Constituency for the 2024 general elections.
With a degree in integrated marketing communications from the African University College of Communications (AUCC), Sadiq founded FulLCircL in 2023, a Pan-African entertainment agency specializing in live experiences, digital content production, PR, and talent management.
Baba Sadiq continues to make a positive impact on Ghana’s media and creative industry through his work, appearances, and contributions.
