Music enthusiasts in Accra were taken on a nostalgic trip back to the 1990s as Joy FM’s 90s Jam took over Pleasant Gardens on January 3, 2025.
The event attracted thousands of patrons who were treated to a mix of genres from the iconic era, including highlife, hiplife, hip hop, funk, RnB, reggae, dancehall, and even a touch of gospel music.
The crowd grooved to the tunes of legendary Ghanaian artists such as VIP, KK Fosu, Reggie Rockstone, Akyeame, Buk Bak, Obrafuor, Tic Tac, Lord Kenya, and many others who dominated the music scene in the 90s.
They also danced to the beats of American music greats like Tupac Shakur, Naughty By Nature, Notorious BIG, Sisqo, MC Lyte, Shaba Ranks, and Snoop Dogg, whose tracks became anthems for young music enthusiasts of that time.
The event’s lineup of DJs, including DJ Black, Andy Dosty, Nii Ayi Tagoe, and Iggy, kept the audience in a 90s frenzy with their music selection, while hosts Kofi Hayford, Lexis Bill, KMJ, and Merqury Quaye ensured the energy levels remained high throughout the show.
