Lynx Entertainment, a prominent music powerhouse in Ghana, has made a significant move into the digital distribution realm after 18 years of success in the music industry.
The record label, operating under Lynx Group Limited, has contributed to the growth of some of Africa’s biggest music stars and produced numerous global hits over the years.
Approaching two decades in the music business, Lynx Entertainment has expanded its services by offering direct music distribution worldwide for both labels and artists.
This new venture is made possible through a partnership with technology giant Vydia, enabling the company to distribute music directly to global Digital Service Providers (DSP) without the need for third-party involvement.
Richie Mensah, the CEO of Lynx Group, emphasized the importance of ensuring adequate representation of African artists and labels in the rapidly evolving digital distribution landscape.
By eliminating the need for third-party distributors or agents, African creatives can now list their music on popular platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, and Tidal from the comfort of their homes.
Through its distribution platform, Lynx Entertainment is able to deliver music to approximately 200 stores globally while offering content protection, rights management, advanced payments, and data tracking.
This premium technology aims to empower creators by providing a centralized and user-friendly platform for distributing, protecting, monetizing, and storing their content, with a clear and transparent royalty payout process.
This bold move by Lynx Entertainment signifies a new era in the African music industry, where artists and labels have greater control and access to global distribution channels.
