Veteran music pundit and executive Ricky Tenneson has made his prediction for the upcoming Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA), confidently tipping Afrobeat sensation King Promise to bag the highly coveted Artiste of the Year award.
With the anticipation building around this year’s lineup of nominees, Tenneson took to The Chat on Channel One TV to explain why he believes King Promise has the edge over the competition.
The seasoned industry expert narrowed down the main contenders to King Promise and dancehall star Stonebwoy, both of whom have had a stellar year.
Despite the popular belief that rapper King Paluta would be next in line after the top two contenders, Tenneson’s analysis places Kweku Smoke and Team Eternity Ghana ahead of Paluta in terms of impact, reach, and success during the eligibility period.
Tenneson emphasized, “It is between King Promise and Stonebwoy. Even the third is actually Kweku Smoke and not King Paluta. Even the fourth is Team Eternity and not King Paluta. I like to work with science and data a lot. It is even King Promise ahead of anybody. King Promise is the most nominated artiste and he has stayed consistent.”
