Tope Alabi, a renowned Nigerian gospel singer, has expressed her concern over the increasing rivalry among artists in the gospel music industry.

During her performance at the Celebrating Jesus 7.0 concert, she spoke out against the backbiting and animosity that seems to be prevalent among her colleagues.

Alabi emphasized the importance of working for God and encouraged her fellow artists to put aside their differences and focus on their shared mission. She warned against gossip and negative behavior, stating that God will hold them accountable for their actions.

The singer pointed out the hypocrisy of established artists who separate themselves from up-and-coming talents, only to engage in infighting amongst themselves.

She also drew attention to the negative impact this behavior has on the younger generation of artists, who are already mirroring the toxic behavior they see around them.

Alabi’s message resonated with many in the audience, who agreed that it is time for a shift in the gospel music industry towards collaboration and support, rather than competition and division.

As the gospel music community reflects on Tope Alabi’s words, they are challenged to prioritize unity and cooperation in their work for the kingdom.

It is a timely reminder that the ultimate goal of gospel music should be to glorify God and spread His message of love and hope, rather than seeking personal fame or success.
