The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), Maame Efua Houadjeto, is set to be a special guest at an upcoming event organized by Joy FM. The event, titled Showbiz A-Z, will focus on shedding light on the rich culture and traditions of the Ga people.
Scheduled for March 15, 2025, the event will be themed ‘The Journey of the Ga People: Their Role in Shaping Tourism and the Creative Economy’ and will be broadcast live from the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park in Accra. Maame Efua will join other industry experts to discuss the significance of Ga customs and traditions such as funeral rites, naming ceremonies, chieftaincy, and marriage ceremonies.
Hosted by Kwame Dadzie, the event will feature renowned poet and Ga Cultural Activist Nii Kwardey Ntreh, Tourism Consultant Francis Doku, tour guide Emmanuel Nii Ayi Solomon, and the CEO of Adansi Travels, Gideon Asare. The program will also include performances showcasing the vibrant Ga culture through music, dance, and other cultural activities.
Showbiz A-Z is an award-winning magazine program that focuses on issues related to culture, creative arts, and tourism. It airs on Joy 99.7FM every Saturday from 2 pm to 6 pm and is hosted by arts and culture journalist Kwame Dadzie. The event is part of Joy FM’s commitment to promoting the culture, tourism, and arts of different tribes in Ghana, with the month of March dedicated to celebrating Ghanaian heritage and products.
In previous editions, Joy FM has explored the rich culture and tourist sites of regions such as Cape Coast, Kumasi, and the Volta Region.
