Celebrity pop artist Drake showed his generous side once again by gifting a fan $100,000 after she completed her chemotherapy.
The heartwarming gesture took place during Drake and J. Cole’s collaborative It’s All a Blur — Big as the What? Tour stop in Nashville, Tennessee.
While performing, Drake noticed a fan holding a sign that read, “Just Finished Chemo.” This prompted him to request the fan’s sign be displayed on the jumbotron, eliciting boisterous cheers from the crowd. Drake then declared, “I want you to cash this in at the end of the night. We’re gonna give you $100,000. I love you and I wish you the best.”
The fan, identified as Lauren Schwallie, has been battling breast cancer since March 2022, according to The Tennessean. Overwhelmed by the surprise, Schwallie expressed her joy, saying, “One thing led to another and I was at the front of the stage and Drake blew me a kiss and told me that he loved me! That’s all I was focused on… and then just like the money on top of it is just insane.”
This isn’t the first time Drake has exhibited such generosity. In September, he gifted another fan $50,000 after learning that the man had been dumped by his girlfriend. After spotting a sign at the show acknowledging the heartbreak, Drake exclaimed, “She’s gonna feel real f*cked up ‘cause I’ma give you fifty bands so you can flex on her. That’s how we doing it tonight, big dog. It’s your night tonight.”
Drake’s philanthropy and kindheartedness continue to touch the lives of his fans, making a positive impact beyond his music career.
