Minister-designate for Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts, Dzifa Gomashie, has announced a new initiative called the “Black Star Experience” aimed at elevating Ghana as a prominent destination for arts, culture, and tourism.
Inspired by the iconic Black Star, a symbol of hope and leadership in Africa, Gomashie emphasized the unifying potential of this initiative during her vetting on Wednesday, January 22.
The Black Star Experience is envisioned to go beyond a one-time event and instead serve as a platform to celebrate Ghana’s rich cultural diversity, incorporating contributions from communities across all regions.
In her remarks, Gomashie highlighted the focus of the initiative on empowering districts and regions to showcase their unique cultural identities.
She expressed that the Black Star Experience would involve collaboration among various government agencies and ministries to establish a cohesive strategy for promoting arts, culture, and tourism.
Furthermore, Gomashie underscored the significance of integrating efforts from different sectors to mainstream culture, tourism, and creative arts.
By providing a platform for young creatives and cultural activists to participate, the initiative aims to stimulate innovation and create economic opportunities within the creative arts sector.
Overall, the Black Star Experience seeks to position Ghana as a cultural hub and tourist destination, leveraging its diverse heritage and creativity to attract visitors and showcase the country’s vibrant cultural landscape.
