Renowned Ghanaian media personality Deloris Frimpong Manso, widely known as Delay, has recently taken to social media to express her thoughts on the treatment of individuals facing financial challenges in society.

In a Facebook post dated April 18, 2024, the host of ‘The Delay Show’ highlighted the disparity in how people are treated based on their financial status.

She pointed out that individuals going through financial difficulties are often overlooked and mistreated, only to have attitudes towards them shift once they achieve financial success.

Delay pointed out the hypocrisy in the way family and friends treat someone when they are broke compared to when they become wealthy.

She emphasized, “If you’re broke, your family and friends will treat you like a nobody. Make some money and see, they’ll change your name to Chairman and Executive Chairperson! The people who throw you out will welcome you in when you make money.”

Moreover, Delay criticized society’s tendency to show fake affection and respect towards wealthy individuals while neglecting those who are struggling with poverty.

She labeled poverty as a ‘silent killer’ and highlighted the biases that exist based on financial status in interpersonal relationships.
