The Waala Traditional Council in the Upper West region recently honored Ghanaian media personality, Oheneyere Gifty Anti.
The special recognition was given at a durbar held to climax the Her Story summit in commemoration of the 2024 International Women’s Day on March 10, 2024, where Gifty Anti served as the Special Guest of Honour.
During the event, the Wa Naa, Paramount Chief of the region, expressed his pleasure in welcoming Gifty Anti back home, referring to her as his daughter. He commended her for her efforts in promoting women’s rights in Ghana and called on the government to pass the affirmative action bill to further empower women in public service.
In response to the honor, Gifty Anti expressed her gratitude and stated that she would forever cherish the day as it was an unforgettable honor for her. The summit was organized by feadghana Female Empowerment and Advocacy for Development with the support of Teen Talk Ghana.
The event featured prominent women from the region as speakers, aimed at impacting the lives of attendees positively.
