Reports of a devastating fire at the recording studio of renowned Highlife musician Kojo Antwi in Kwashieman have left the Ghanaian entertainment industry in shock.

A nearby shoemaker, Oneday Oneday, shared details of the incident with GhanaWeekend, shedding light on the events of Sunday, March 3, 2024.

Clarifying that the affected building served as a recording studio for musicians and not as Kojo Antwi’s residence, the witness described the calamity:

“I was not present when the fire broke out, but I received a call informing me about the blazing inferno. The entire community mobilized to assist… By the time I reached the scene, the entire structure was engulfed in flames.”

“We promptly contacted the fire service, and they arrived swiftly… There were approximately 3 or 4 firefighters on the scene… They battled the flames for more than six hours before managing to extinguish them. The fire began around 5 pm on Sunday and persisted until midnight on Monday”

Oneday Oneday also mentioned that Kojo Antwi only appeared after the fire had been brought under control.
