Tyrese Gibson, known for his roles in “Fast & Furious” and “Baby Boy,” has found himself in a legal battle over unpaid child support.
The actor was recently arrested for failing to pay an upgraded amount of $10,000 per month to his ex-wife, Samantha Lee, for their 5-year-old daughter, Soraya.
Judge Kevin Farmer held Gibson in contempt of court and ordered him to pay $73,000 to avoid jail time.
This amount includes $7,500 for Lee’s attorney fees in the ongoing child support battle. Gibson, who was previously paying $2,200 monthly, had his child support increased last year, leading to his current legal troubles.
Despite insisting on his innocence, Gibson predicted his arrest in a now-deleted social media post.
In the post, he accused Lee’s lawyers of colluding with Judge Farmer and criticized the judge for alleged bias against him.
Gibson also expressed frustration with the legal proceedings, questioning why his bank statements and IMDB page were being scrutinized.
The actor’s legal woes have shed light on the challenges faced by fathers in family law courts.
Gibson, who has been through two divorces and expressed a desire to settle down again, emphasized the importance of family and marriage. Despite his past difficulties, he remains optimistic about finding love and building a stable family life.
