Renowned Ghanaian artist, Kofi Kinaata, recently shared his thoughts on the dynamics of interviews and the relationship between artists and presenters. During an interview with Nana Romeo on Accra FM 100.5, Kinaata addressed the common criticism that some interview questions are unnecessary or unprofessional.
He highlighted that while artists may find certain questions irrelevant, it’s essential to consider that presenters often ask on behalf of their audience. Kinaata emphasized the responsibility of the interviewee in deciding how to respond to questions, stating that ultimately, it is up to the artist to choose whether or not to answer.
Kinaata also mentioned that interviews should be seen as a conversation rather than an interrogation. If an artist is uncomfortable with a question, they have the option to signal the presenter to move on to the next topic. This perspective challenges the idea that some questions are intrusive, advocating for a more collaborative approach between artists and presenters.
The artist’s debut EP ‘Kofi ooo Kofi’ is currently available, showcasing his talent and creativity in the music industry. Kofi Kinaata’s insights serve as a reminder of the importance of communication and understanding in the media landscape, bridging the gap between celebrities and the public.
