One week celebration of K.K. Kabobo set for April 20

The late Highlife legend, K. K. Kabobo, will be honored at a one-week commemoration event scheduled for Saturday, April 20, 2024. The event will take place at the Police Depot Social Centre in Tesano, Accra, as a tribute to the iconic musician.

K. K. Kabobo, known for his contributions to Ghanaian music, passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2024, after battling liver disease. Despite efforts made at the University of Ghana Medical Center (UGMC), he tragically did not survive.

Prior to his passing, K. K. Kabobo’s illness had attracted widespread attention, with support pouring in from prominent figures such as former President John Mahama, Samira Bawumia, Wendy Shay, and the Ghana Music Rights Organisation (GHAMRO), among others.

The late musician leaves behind a lasting legacy and is survived by 16 children. His impact on Ghana’s music industry continues to be felt, and his memory will be cherished by many.
