Ghanaian singer Mzbel has expressed her disappointment in not being approached for any government appointments despite her hard work for the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
While many of her colleagues in the creative industry have been offered positions by the new government, Mzbel feels neglected and overlooked.
In an interview, Mzbel stated that she would likely turn down any appointment in order to maintain her peace of mind and keep her image clear of any political affiliations.
She emphasized that she doesn’t want her success to be equated with politics, as she has worked hard to establish herself in the industry.
Mzbel also mentioned that she has faced backlash and threats due to her support for the NDC in the past, and feels let down that she hasn’t been recognized for her contributions to the party’s success in the recent election. She expressed her disappointment at not even receiving a call from the appointing authorities.
Despite leading a group called Celebrities for Mahama to campaign for the NDC in previous elections, Mzbel revealed that she is now under pressure to secure appointments for group members within the party.
