Renowned Ghanaian gospel artist Nacee recently shared some insights on how the public should perceive musicians’ criticisms of award schemes. In a recent interview, he advised that people should take their complaints with a grain of salt, especially when they are not nominated.
Nacee emphasized the emotional nature of artists and how they tend to critique award nominations when they are not included. He mentioned that while musicians may be critical of local award schemes like the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA), they still value and appreciate international recognition for their work.
The artist highlighted the importance of music award schemes in the industry, particularly on the occasion of the TGMA’s 25th anniversary. He acknowledged the challenges faced in organizing such events and urged corporate support for their continuation.
Nacee expressed his admiration for the efforts put into organizing the TGMA over the past 25 years and encouraged others to show their support.
