Keche Andrew, known for being one half of the popular Ghanaian duo Keche, recently shared his unique strategy for coping with the scorching heat during power outages, commonly referred to as ‘dumsor.’

During an interview on GhanaWeb’s Talkertainment with Elsie Lamar, Andrew opened up about his secret to staying cool during night blackouts.

He expressed his frustration with the unpredictable power cuts that often leave him sweating and uncomfortable in the middle of the night. To combat this, Andrew revealed that he has resorted to sleeping next to his refrigerator with the door open, allowing the cold air to circulate and keep him cool.

Additionally, he mentioned using his wife’s portable, rechargeable fans, typically used for drying makeup, as an extra measure to beat the heat during ‘dumsor.’

However, Andrew did not shy away from criticizing the government’s handling of the ongoing power crisis. He highlighted the lack of acknowledgment and effective measures being taken to address the issue, contrasting it with the former president who owned up to the ‘dumsor’ issues during his tenure and provided a schedule.

Andrew emphasized the importance of citizens voicing their concerns without fear of being labeled or associated with political affiliations. He expressed frustration over the politicization of societal issues and called for a more transparent and accountable approach to addressing the challenges faced by Ghanaians during ‘dumsor.’
