I felt sick during the short period of internet outage – Shatta Wale

Ghanaian music star Shatta Wale recently shared his thoughts on the impact of Ghana’s internet blackout on his daily life and well-being.

In a recent interview on GTV Ghana’s Breakfast Show with journalist Kafui Dey, Shatta Wale discussed his experience of discovering the internet outage on Thursday, March 14, 2024.

During the interview, Shatta Wale explained that he realized something was wrong when he tried accessing the internet on his phone around 10 am that day but encountered connectivity issues.

Initially, he thought the problem was with his device or SIM card, but later found out from his personal assistant that the internet was down nationwide.

The award-winning artist admitted feeling frustrated and unwell due to the situation. At first, he was unsure of the cause but later learned about the undersea cable disruptions that led to the widespread internet blackout in Ghana and other African countries on that day.

The interview highlighted the challenges faced not only by Shatta Wale but also by many Ghanaians and other African nations affected by the internet disruption.

Several African countries, including South Africa, Kenya, the Ivory Coast, Liberia, Cameroon, and Benin, experienced internet connectivity issues on the same day due to multiple undersea telecommunication cables encountering failures.
