The world-renowned and Grammy-nominated Queen of Dancehall and Reggae music, Grace Latoya Hamilton, also known as Spice, demonstrated her commitment to education by donating essential items to students in three basic schools last Friday in the La Dade Kotopon Municipality in Accra.
This charitable act was done in partnership with the MYO Global Foundation, emphasizing its dedication to enhancing educational development in underserved communities.
One of the beneficiary schools, La Anglican Basic School, received much-needed educational resources, including school uniforms, designer school shoes, whiteboards, hygiene supplies, nutritional snacks, and a cash donation to support the school’s needs.
During the donation ceremony, Spice, who hails from humble beginnings in Old Briton, Jamaica, shared her inspiring journey with the students, emphasizing the importance of education in unlocking opportunities for success.
The Headmistress of La Anglican Basic School, Sarah Matey, expressed her gratitude for the donations, highlighting how the uniforms and shoes will make a significant difference in the students’ lives and academic journey.
Despite facing economic challenges, the schools received a vital lifeline through these donations, thanks to the collaboration between MYO Global Foundation and Spice.
Miss Deborah Opoku Sarfo, Projects Officer at MYO Global Foundation, underscored the importance of such initiatives, stating that access to proper educational resources enables children to focus on their studies and reach their full potential.
This partnership exemplifies how corporate entities and influential figures like Spice can drive meaningful social change and inspire young minds to pursue education with renewed determination.
