The Flagbearer of the All People’s Congress, APC, Dr. Hassan Ayariga, has expressed his belief that the creative sector in Ghana is in need of new leadership to drive growth and development.

In an interview with Merqury Quaye on Cruise Control, Dr. Ayariga emphasized the importance of change in leadership to bring about positive transformations in the industry.

He cited examples of how a change in leadership could impact a media organization like Hitz FM, stating that a new leader with a vision could improve the station’s facilities, attract more advertisements, and ultimately increase revenue and salaries for employees.

Dr. Ayariga also raised concerns about Ghana’s reliance on foreign partnerships, which he believes has led to a loss of national identity and economic independence.

He cautioned against the growing influence of foreign entities in Ghana, warning that the country risked becoming “21st-century slaves” if the trend continued unchecked.

Furthermore, Dr. Ayariga encouraged young creatives to focus on authenticity and innovation in their work, highlighting the importance of self-generation and originality in the competitive creative industry.

He urged individuals in the sector to take creative risks and set new trends, rather than imitating others, in order to establish a unique identity and stand out in the global market.
