Renowned media personality and Creative Director of Nineteen57, Kofi Okyere Darko, has shared the age at which he was certain about his life ambitions.
In a recent interview on Joy Prime’s Changes show with Roselyn Felli, KOD revealed that he made the decision to pursue a career in media at a very young age and has successfully followed through with it.
“At a very tender age, I decided to take this path. By age 7, I knew everything I wanted to do in this life, and I’ve been staying on course,” KOD said. Despite the need to adapt to new technological developments, he remained steadfast in his foundational dreams and continued to pursue them.
The seasoned broadcaster credited his inspiration to venture into media to a childhood visit to GBC where he saw the technicalities of TV production firsthand. This experience, coupled with his passion for drumming and creativity at home, solidified his career path in media.
With over three decades in Ghana’s media landscape, KOD has worked with various media houses and currently serves as the creative director of Nineteen57.
He is also the founder of the popular fashion and music event, Rhythms on Da Runway. By age 18, he became a full-time radio presenter and added television presenting to his repertoire at age 19.
KOD’s accolades include winning the Most Stylish Radio Personality of the Year at the Glitz Style Awards and the Most Fashionable Man of the Year at the Exclusive Men of the Year Awards, among others.
