Ghanaian highlife artist, Bisa Kdei, recently made headlines after revealing that he has stopped attending church services.

The musician expressed that despite his decision to worship privately, he remains a devout believer with a strong faith in God.

Bisa Kdei spoke out against what he sees as exploitative behaviors and a lack of compassion within some religious institutions.

He criticized the trend of pastors demanding money for prayers and services, stating, “One needs money for prayers, these days. The pastor has asked for money for his service, where will I find the money? Everybody is using schemes and tricks.”

The artist also highlighted the disparity between wealthy church leaders and struggling congregants, stating, “I do not want to be part of a church that has a prosperous leader but destitute members.” He also shared a personal experience where a pastor refused to pray for his deceased mother because she hadn’t been a regular attendee, leading him to question the sense of such practices.

Bisa Kdei emphasized that his offering is now given to the needy, reflecting his shift towards direct charitable contributions rather than traditional church offerings.
