Afua Asantewaa Aduonum, the Ghanaian media personality who fell short of setting a new world record for the longest singing marathon, has exciting news for her supporters.
She has announced plans to embark on a ‘Thank You tour’ starting on August 24, 2024.
In a recent tweet, Afua expressed her gratitude to countries that supported her Guinness World Record attempt and revealed that the tour will kick off in Toronto, Canada. The tour will run until September 3, 2024, and is sponsored by Airmart, a travel agency.
Afua has extended an invitation to both Ghanaians and non-Ghanaians to join her on this celebratory tour.
She stated, “I have a tall list of Countries I am so grateful to for their immense support for me during my GWR record attempt. It’s time to say thank you beginning with all Ghanaians and non-Ghanaians in Toronto, Canada. Join us for an amazing experience from August 24 – September 03, 2024.”
The tour package includes a flight ticket for interested participants, 10 nights of hotel accommodation, Canadian visa fees, biometric fees, tours in Toronto, and more.
Earlier this year, Afua made headlines for her unsuccessful attempt to break the current record for the longest singing marathon set by Sunil Waghmare in 2012.
Despite singing for an impressive 126 hours and 52 minutes, she was disqualified by the Guinness World Record officials due to “break timings not being met,” which is a standard rule for all of their longest marathon records.
Despite this setback, Afua remains grateful for the support she received and is excited to embark on this ‘Thank You tour’ to show her appreciation.
