Ghanaian actor Prince David Osei has spoken out against the criticism he faces for his political beliefs.
In an interview with Joy FM, he defended his right to support any political ideology and criticized those who judge him for it.
Osei pointed out that many celebrities openly endorse political parties without facing the same level of backlash.
He expressed frustration at the double standard, stating, “People find it okay to believe in an ideology as individuals, it’s okay for them but when they find someone else believing in an ideology then they have a problem and it makes me sick.”
The actor also addressed the common claim that some people are non-partisan, arguing that everyone holds political beliefs whether they admit it or not. He urged others to respect his right to express his own views, just as he respects theirs.
Recently, Prince David Osei and musician Okyeame Kwame were appointed to contribute to the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) manifesto.
They are part of the party’s sub-committee on tourism, arts, and culture, which aims to develop initiatives to benefit the cultural and creative industries.
