In a recent reflection, Ghanaian actor Jojo Mills-Robertson, best known for his role as ‘Sofo Joe’ in the popular ‘Efiewura’ series, shared a disturbing experience from his first trip to the United States.

Exactly one year ago, on May 22, 2023, Mills-Robertson revealed how a close friend betrayed him during his visit to the US. In a moment of trust, Mills-Robertson had handed over his savings to his friend’s account since he did not have the required documents.

To his dismay, he later discovered that his friend had spent $1,200 of his money without his consent. Despite the friend’s promises to return the money, the funds continued to be depleted.

In a shocking turn of events, when Mills-Robertson accompanied his friend to the bank to retrieve his money, the friend made a risky move by running a red light to evade the police. The friend then pointed fingers at Mills-Robertson, falsely accusing him of being undocumented.

Thankfully, the police officer saw through the deception and reprimanded the friend for the traffic violation, advising him to report any alleged criminal activities to the appropriate authorities.

After this shocking ordeal, Mills-Robertson made the decision to leave his friend’s house and visit his nephew in Virginia, never returning.
