Ben Kperekpo, popularly known as Funnychef, has revealed that his love for food was the inspiration behind his stage name.

Reflecting on the challenges he faced at the beginning of his career, including not being able to afford a camera, Funnychef emphasized the importance of investment in the entertainment industry. He stated, “As an entertainer, if one does not have money to invest in the business, one would fall off while others would still be moving.”
The comedian also shared the story of how he and his friends started shooting skits with Blackberry phones, which eventually led to the creation of ‘Sirbalo Comedy’. He highlighted the impact of these beginnings on his career, acknowledging the role it played in propelling him to where he is today.
Interestingly, Funnychef initially aspired to become a legal practitioner in order to advocate for the masses and fight against the ill treatment of people.
