Singer and DJ, Mark Kwesi Arthur, known in the music industry as DJ Azonto, is feeling hopeful about the upcoming 2024 Ghana Music Awards (GMA). After feeling cheated in the previous edition, he believes that the organizers, Charter House, will not overlook his work again.
In an interview with Amansan Krakye, DJ Azonto expressed his lack of trust in the awards scheme, stating that if his song with Kumawood actor, Lil Win, does not receive significant recognition, he will no longer have faith in the VGMA.
He emphasized that he was disheartened by the fact that his song “Fa No Fom” was sidelined in the last edition, which led to the award being given to another artist, Lasmid.
DJ Azonto has made it clear that he does not expect the same mistake to be repeated in the 2024 VGMA.
Despite the disappointment from the previous edition, he remains optimistic that his hard work will be duly recognized and rewarded this time around.
