A new National Theatre is in the works for the Ashanti Region, as discussed in a recent meeting between Mr. Rex Owusu Marfo of Black Star Experience and Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene.
The project, initiated in line with H.E. John Dramani Mahama’s 2024 Creative Manifesto, aims to decentralize the arts and culture scene and provide a platform for regional talents.
The proposed National Theatre project is expected to not only boost tourism but also create job opportunities and enhance the cultural landscape of the Ashanti Region. In addition, Mr. Marfo shared plans for a project centered around the Lake Bosomtwe enclave, which promises further development in the region.
This initiative aligns with the government’s vision to make Ghana the leading tourism destination in West Africa. The collaboration between Black Star Experience and the Ashanti Regional Minister signals a strong commitment to promoting economic development through the arts and cultural sector.
