The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) has kicked off the annual Heritage Month with a special focus on promoting Ghanaian cuisine and boosting the global presence of Ghanaian music.

This year’s celebration will see the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) leading a campaign to encourage radio stations, TV networks, and event organizers to give priority to Ghanaian music.

In addition, there will be the introduction of food bazaars, which will be held on March 14 annually, to showcase the rich culinary heritage of the country.

Heritage Month aims to raise awareness of Ghana’s cultural legacy among citizens, visitors, and tourists. The CEO of the Ghana Tourism Authority, Mrs. Maame Efua Houadjeto, highlighted the importance of preserving Ghanaian heritage through food and music at the official launch.

“Heritage Month is more than just a celebration; it is a movement towards creating a strong cultural identity that enhances our tourism industry. We want every Ghanaian and visitor to leave with a taste of our cuisine and the sound of our music in their hearts,” she emphasized.

The month-long celebration will feature a variety of events and activities to engage both locals and tourists. From Ghana Music Month organized by MUSIGA to the Made in Ghana Rave and the Akwaaba Festival, there will be something for everyone to enjoy.
