This year, Joy FM is gearing up to celebrate Ghana’s 68th Independence anniversary in March with a series of exciting activities. Dubbed “Ghana Month on Joy,” the popular radio station will delve into the inspiration behind some of Ghana’s traditional cloths, Adinkra symbols, traditional foods, and more throughout the month.

One of the highlights of the celebration is a special feature on the Ga culture on the 15th of March at the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park. Additionally, from the 21st to the 23rd of March, Joy FM will take its listeners on a trip to explore some of the Volta Region’s most iconic tourist sites.

The Volta Adventure trip will include visits to the Kpando Lakeview Zipline, Tafi-Atome Monkey Sanctuary and Cultural Village, Mount Gemi, and Amedzofe Waterfalls, among other activities. There will also be various recreational activities at the Volta Serene Hotel for the tourists to enjoy.

Participants interested in joining the Volta Adventure trip can do so for GHS 3,500, which covers transportation, accommodation, and food. The month-long celebration will culminate in an Accra High Street Tour on the 29th of March, where attendees will walk from Osu Castle to the Light House while exploring historical sites in Accra.

In a bid to promote Ghanaian music during the month of Independence, Joy FM will feature almost 100% Ghanaian music on their station throughout the celebrations. Additionally, there will be insightful features on various aspects of Ghana’s culture and a daily 30-minute Ghana Month program titled Focus on Ghana on Joy 99.7FM.
