Culture and tourism curator, Frederick Kofi Deladem Dro, is calling for increased support for content creators who use digital platforms to showcase Ghana to the world.
During an appearance on GTV’s Breakfast Show, Dro emphasized the important role that content creators play in promoting Ghana’s culture, tourism, and creative industry.
However, these creators face significant challenges, including high data costs, limited monetization opportunities, and a lack of local brand partnerships. Despite their efforts to showcase Ghana to a global audience, many creators struggle to sustain their work due to financial constraints.
Dro urged the government, corporate brands, and tourism agencies to collaborate with content creators by providing sponsorships, grants, and advertising partnerships.
He also highlighted the need for policies that support Ghanaian creators in monetizing their content on international platforms and reducing internet costs.
In addition to financial support, Dro called for the establishment of help desks by hotels, internet service providers, transport providers, traditional and cultural councils, and the tourism ministry to support content creators in their efforts to promote Ghana.
Furthermore, Dro emphasized the importance of unity among digital content creators to address the challenges facing the industry. By coming together and having a common voice, creators can work towards solutions that benefit the entire ecosystem.
Other panelists, Jessica D. Kassah and Mercy Adjorlolo, echoed Dro’s sentiments and emphasized the value of influencer marketing and digital storytelling in shaping Ghana’s global appeal.
