Mahama names KOD as Presidential Adviser on Diaspora Affairs

President John Dramani Mahama has recently appointed Kofi Okyere Darko (KOD) as his Presidential Adviser on Diaspora Affairs.

Born in Winneba in 1978, KOD’s educational journey began in Winneba and Adukrom before furthering his studies at the Ghana Institute of Journalism.

With a father who served as a retired deputy director of Ghana Prisons and a mother who was a founding member of the 31 December Women’s Movement, KOD was instilled with a strong sense of patriotism from a young age.

His professional career has been diverse and impactful, starting as a production assistant at Ghana Broadcasting Corporation before working with renowned fashion brands in the United Kingdom.

Upon his return to Ghana, he excelled in the media industry, holding key positions at various radio stations and currently hosting the popular Starr Drive on Starr FM in Accra.

Aside from his media presence, KOD is also recognized as a cultural ambassador and fashion entrepreneur, with a consistent ability to bridge the gap between Ghana and its diaspora community.

His unique understanding of both the local and international landscape positions him as a key player in promoting investment opportunities, fostering stronger ties, and enhancing cultural and economic collaborations between Ghana and its diaspora.
