The coming together of Ghanaian and French musical talents will be celebrated at the closing event of the Soundscape and Ghana x France Songwriting Camp on February 21, 2025.
Hosted at Impact Hub Accra at 6 PM, the event will showcase the collaborative work of twelve talented songwriters from both countries.
These artists have spent February 17 to 21 engaging in a unique cross-cultural collaboration, blending different influences to create original music. This event highlights the importance of international partnerships in the music industry and showcases the creative synergy between Ghana and France.
The closing event will also mark the conclusion of Soundscape, an initiative focused on music publishing. Throughout the program, 22 Ghanaian cultural entrepreneurs have been exploring ways to protect Ghana’s musical heritage and support the future of the music industry.
Participants had the opportunity to learn about copyright management, synchronization, and music business strategy through in-person sessions in Accra and online workshops with experts from Ghana and abroad.
The program also included one-on-one mentoring to facilitate connections between Ghanaian and French professionals.
The Support to the Expansion of Ghana Music Industry (SEGMI) project, implemented by Expertise France in partnership with various Ghanaian organizations and funded by the French Development Agency (AFD) and the French Treasury, aims to strengthen Ghana’s music copyright environment and promote French-Ghanaian collaborations.
