Rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs is taking legal action against the makers of a documentary that he claims features false and defamatory statements about him.

The lawsuit, filed for $100m (£80.5m), targets TV network NBC, its streaming service Peacock, and production company Ample for their documentary titled Diddy: The Making of a Bad Boy.

The documentary allegedly accuses Combs of committing heinous crimes such as serial murder, rape of minors, and sex trafficking of minors. His lawyer, Erica Wolff, stated that the program maliciously assumes he is a ‘monster’ and includes claims that the makers knew were false or published with reckless disregard.

Combs is seeking damages for the reputational and economic harm caused by the documentary, which also falsely accuses him of murdering individuals close to him, including former partner Kim Porter and rapper Christopher Wallace, known as Biggie Smalls.

This legal action comes in the midst of numerous civil lawsuits against Combs, with allegations ranging from kidnapping and sexual coercion to assault and rape. Despite the accusations, Combs has denied all claims and has pleaded not guilty to criminal charges.

In response to the lawsuit, NBC and Ample have not yet commented on the matter.
