Bessa Simons, Naa Agyeman to headline AdinkraFest in Toronto

AdinkraFest, a highly anticipated music and cultural festival, has announced renowned Ghanaian highlife acts Bessa Simons and Naa Agyeman as the headline performers for the event.

Taking place in Toronto, Canada from April 16 to April 19, 2025, the festival is expected to draw key figures from the Ghanaian and Canadian music and cultural industries.

In addition to Bessa Simons and Naa Agyeman, the event will feature a lineup of selected local acts that will entertain music enthusiasts.

The festival aims to showcase Ghana’s tourism industry, arts, culture, trade, and investment opportunities, with various spectacular events planned throughout the duration of AdinkraFest.

Designed as a family-friendly outing, the festival will offer a diverse range of activities suitable for people of all ages. Highlighting Ghanaian music, culture, tourism, and fashion to a global audience, the event is expected to attract over 10,000 attendees from the UK, Europe, the US, and the Caribbean.

Joining Bessa Simons and Naa Agyeman on stage will be other performers such as Yaw Stone, Leon Jones, and Shebre Music and Culture Group.

Organized by Adinkra Promotion in collaboration with several partners including the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) and the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), the festival will feature attractions including a durbar of chiefs, cultural dancers, music performances, kids’ activities, and a fashion show.

Joseph Adinkra, the CEO of Adinkra Promotions, emphasized the festival’s goal of promoting Ghanaian music, culture, and tourism on an international platform.

He called for support from all stakeholders in the music, tourism, and cultural sectors to ensure the success of AdinkraFest. Adinkra also highlighted the economic potential of these sectors, urging Ghanaians to recognize their importance in driving revenue for the country.

With an array of activities planned, including music performances, food tastings, dance showcases, and art exhibitions, AdinkraFest promises an immersive experience for attendees. The introduction of a business expo will provide Ghanaian businesses with the opportunity to engage with the diaspora and promote investment in the Ghanaian economy.
